They probably did send it immediatly. But Yahoo is making sure it gets delivered where it should. But checking for Spam, Virusses, Block Addresses, etc. And that does take time.
My email from my non-Yahoo account to yahoo accounts is ALWAYS delayed even though my settings say send immed
Check with your non-yahoo account service provider to find out why the delay.
